HAPPY DAY
Today is Yoshi's 15th Birthday. We sang the birthday song to him this morning, I think he enjoyed it.
And...Happy Valentine's Day to my husband. Thank you for always being so supportive and generous. It's the little things that I appreciate most. Love you!

A Visit to the Veterinarian
I made the decision a few weeks ago that our 15 year old cat Yoshi needed to go to the vet, just for a check-up. It's been about 10-12 years since he was there the last time. We've been fortunate that he's been so healthy all this time. I looked up veterinarians on the internet and found the one closest to us and set up an appointment. Why the closest? Because Yoshi's not used to traveling and I wanted to make this as stress free as possible. I made his appointment at Banfield, The Pet Hospital which is located inside of Petsmart. The day of the appointment came and we prepared to take kitty for a ride. We put him in his brand new carrier and headed out. He made so much noise, meowing the whole ride, I felt so bad. At the vet's we filled out his paperwork, had him weighed (17 lbs.!) and took him in to the exam room. Right away the nurse showed us a pamphlet about their Optimum Wellness Program for pets. Small desposit plus a small monthly amount covers kitty for all of his basic needs (including teeth cleening), plus a discount on things not covered by the program. This was a sigh of relief because I was dreading the bill. It's almost a guaranteed $300.00 whenever you take your pet to the vet. That's why kitty hasn't been for all these years. The folks at Banfield seem to know their stuff and they took really good care of Yoshi. He had his teeth cleaned, a complete physical examination including blood test, urinary and fecal tests. Except for a slight ear infection Yoshi is in excellent health. He needs to lose about 5 lbs. too but that shouldn't be too difficult. Our total bill would have been about $1,400.00 for all that they did to him. I only paid $142.00 for the program desposit, first month's premium and his medication. I've been telling everyone about Banfield and their Wellness Program. It saves you money and your pets can live healthy happy lives. I feel like such a good mommy now and I think that Yoshi feels good too.
