Rest In Peace Robert Jordan
(this picture is from his blog Dragonmount)

My favorite author died yesterday. I just read about it tonight and it made me cry. We weren't expecting him to pass away any time soon. He'd been battling a disease for a couple of years and had put on a strong front, telling everyone on his blog that he was going to beat it and that nothing would stop him. Unfortunately, no matter how strong the spirit is, sometimes the body is just too weak to accomodate it. I had hoped, like the rest of his fans, that he would make it. He fought so hard for so long. He was one tough cookie. I'm glad that he went out fighting though, it's how I would want to go out too.

The world will miss your creativity and great storytelling abilities, RJ. Thank you for all that you gave us.

I want a Mac!
My husband and I went to a workshop at our local Apple store yesterday. The workshop was for anyone that has purchased or is thinking of purchasing an Apple iMac computer. I fell in love with the simplicity of the thing. With the Apple iMac computer, all you have is the monitor, keyboard and mouse. All of the guts of the computer are in the monitor. I've been waiting for years for PC's to implement this into their systems. Why do we still need to have a tower? Why does a desktop computer have to take up so much space? It just doesn't make sense. I know the technology is there to make these products simpler and easier to use, so do it. There were so many other options available with the Apple iMac that I won't mention, but I realized at the workshop that the people at Apple think like me. Things I've been wanting in a personal computer for years are available in an iMac. I recently purchased a desktop from Dell which is a bummer, because I know that it'll be a few years before I'm able to buy the computer of my dreams, which turns out to be an Apple iMac. Oh yeah, I want an iPhone too. I got to look at it for the first time yesterday and it rocks. It's another product that I've been waiting for. It's so simple and easy to use, a child could use this phone. I like simplicity. I like things in life to be simple and easy to use. If you're thinking about buying a new computer any time soon, you might want to check out an iMac first. They are more versatile than they used to be.
